"Poor management: good guest has to call police twice"
Overall Score1.0/ 5
As a woman traveler, I always ask about security. I was assured at check-in that security was good and if there was a problem after midnight, I could call the Cummin Police and they would help since there was no help available on the front desk after midnight. After having driven nine hours, I wanted a good night sleep, but the two men next door wanted to party. At 10:30 they were having a great time. I called the front desk and asked if they could be asked to quiet down. 11:45 they are still partying so I called front desk again. The woman was upset that I was calling. She said she had called their room and then gone up to talk to them. Maybe so, but they were still so loud that they may as well have been in my room. So, she went up again. At about 12:30 I called the police and they came by to ask the party to quiet down. At 1:45 I called the police again and that is when I found out that Cummin has no sound ordinance and that unless they were breaking the law there was nothing the police could do other than to ask them to be quiet. The next morning I talked to the manager. I wanted a refund but was told that I couldn't get one. I then pointed out that the guest guide I was given clearly said, "...Sun Suites does not permit the following on premises:...excessive noise..." and why weren't those men asked to leave? She said they should have been asked to leave but the woman on duty was not a manager (as if that explained why the policy was not followed.) Later that day when I checked out, the same woman who had to go up to the party room was on duty. I said that I was not the only one to complain. She also said that when they finally opened the door, there were only two men in the room. I assured her that there were women in the room. She said they must have been hiding in the bathroom. I took pictures of the empty beer cartons left outside their door in the morning. I have stayed at this place many times and never had this kind of experience. It's pretty sad that people who are following the rules have to put up with those who are not and also get to pay for not being able to sleep after a very, very long day.
