The scenery is awesome and so many restaurants to choose from. If you are traveling with kids there is a nice park and a fun center in town just up the road from the motel

We came for a funeral so we didn't see much. We did have the BEST cinnamon roll ever. Yummies on Idaho street has great pastries.

Elko is a surprise - it is a vibrant small city in the middle of the Nevada desert. It is an an authentic Western mining town with culture and class.
We are very familiar with Elko as my wife was raised there and we lived there for 30 years.
El col appears to be a city that is repairing itself. The downtown was well-scrubbed and repated anniversarial. Small stores and restaurants dotted the landscape. I was impressed.
Buck's is a nice cool place to eat and have a beer.

We love coming to Elko and are happy that the Cowboy Poetry Gathering is back.
Elco is a nice little place; we went there to play Indian hand game. They have a Walmart and all the nice little stores you want. Did a lot of shopping while I was there. Even drove around and looked at some of the sites and and they're very historic. It was good, it was a nice relaxing small mini vacation. Will be back.
