My fiancé and I reserved a jacuzzi suite online ahead of time on Ramada Tropics Resort website for a getaway with our 9 month old. We are almost a two hour drive away. When we arrived to check in the prices changed to $89 instead of $141 that was charged on my card already and we didn't understand why. We get checked into our room and comes to find out it's because we did not have a jacuzzi suite like we had reserved ahead of time we had a regular pool side room. We go back to the front desk asking why we did not get the room we reversed ahead of time on their website. The front desk lady informed us that is because they are unavailable today due to them being short staffed on house keeping satff and they had no one to clean the jacuzzi suite rooms. She offered us a full refund. We were very disappointed in driving almost two hours away with a 9 month old, spending all day in des monies then checking in for the evening to not even have the room we reserved. We are suppose to be getting our full refund back onto my debit card before midnight tonight. The two front desk ladies were very nice though.

When we were checking in, two different people came down complaining about how their rooms were not clean. This made me very on edge. The hotel was so loud, even at 10 11 pm. There was a barking dog and a lot of commotion outside the rooms on the outside of hotel. I will not be back here.

Property description

As the only resort with a full indoor waterpark, the Ramada Tropics Resort Conference Center is the most family-friendly hotel in Des Moines. With an incredible 10,000-square-foot aquatic playground, you can climb our 40 ft. pirate ship, rocket down two different 160 ft. water slides, and get your game on in our water basketball and volleyball pools. Even the smallest of swimmers will have fun splashing in the zero-depth entry pool. Once you need a break from the water, slide over to the arcade game room, poolside tiki bar, or onsite restaurant and bar. Conveniently located off I-35 and I-80, our pet-friendly hotel is just minutes from west and downtown Des Moines, thrilling rides at Adventureland amusement park, Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. All our 166 rooms & suites feature a microwave & mini refrigerator. Included with your room are waterpark wristbands, free continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking. Poolside rooms, hot tub suites, and handicapped-accessible rooms are also available. Our conference center includes our main ballroom, which can seat up to 350 guests and can be sub-divided into three rooms. We also offer 4 additional breakout rooms ranging from 450-980 square feet.
