Seasonality of Kissimmee, Florida

If you're looking for an optimal time to visit Kissimmee, go for September. It's the very end of summer and most schools have started back up again, which means the family crowds will be relatively sparse when compared with the rest of the year. For the same reason, weekdays during October are also a good choice. The holiday season is one of the most magical, and expensive, times you can visit Disney. The parks go all-out with decorations, and everything is truly as much of a winter wonderland as it can be in the middle of warm and humid Florida. However, booking a room anywhere near Disney at this time of year can become cost prohibitive the closer you get to Christmas and New Year's. If you're looking for a more affordable experience, Christmas at Disney isn't the best time to book.Spring and summer, anywhere from April until August, are Disney's high season, which means Kissimmee gets more crowded and hotel rates go up. Florida is also extremely hot and humid during July and August, though if you're planning on visiting a water park, the heat is probably a good thing.

Luxury Hotel Options in Kissimmee, Florida

4 Star Average Prices: $136.38

Since one of the major reasons to visit Kissimmee is to go to Disney World and Universal Studios, some of the best hotels in the area fall under these brands as well. Disney offers a host of fantastic luxury hotel options. The most standout among them is the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. The rooms start above $800 per night, and go well into the thousands, but the experience is well worth the price tag. The Four Seasons is a five-star experience with pillowtop beds, private balconies, and iPads in every room. It also offers a spa and free childcare, and is near Epcot's main entrance and several golf courses. If you'd rather not go quite as luxurious as the Four Seasons, check out Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Old Key West Resort, or Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Each has its own magical theme, and rooms start at about half the price of the least expensive Four Seasons room. Disney resorts have a reputation for creating an immersive, magical experience for their guests.Universal Studios also offers a few luxury hotels in the area. Universal's Loews Portofino Bay Hotel is situated in Orlando, rather than Kissimmee, but that's so they can put you right next to Universal Studios. In fact, the hotel is right next to the Universal City Walk experience. The resort offers a full-service spa, complimentary Wi-Fi, and three swimming pools, one of which has a water slide. You can also check out Universal's Hard Rock Hotel, which is also near City Walk, and which boasts music-themed decorations inside each luxury room.

"Ideal, Close to Everything"

What I liked about the city of Kissimmee: everything was close by, the restaurants, the markets, etc. I appreciated that a lot. It was only about 5 minutes from Osceola Regional Medical Center which my dad had to have a procedure done, the VA has a wing there to treat their veterans.

"Great restaurants throughout"
Score 5.0 / 5

Lots of places to eat, but avoid Capone's Dinner & Show which has a lousy buffet and a terrible show. It has certainly gotten worse since I went there several years ago.

"20 Minutes from Orlando Attractions"
Score 4.0 / 5

The city of Kissimmee didn't really have too much to offer for our families' needs, but Orlando was literally 20 minutes away, so it was perfect.

"Convenient, Fantastic Location!"
Score 4.0 / 5

Kissimmee is a super location, you have everything very close by. I travel frequently with groups and finding stores and restaurants close by and affordable is always a problem. Kissimmee is the exception, you have everything at your fingertips. I have stayed in other areas such as International Dr and Lake Buena Vista but this year I specifically shopped for a hotel in Kissimmee because it is so convenient.

"Commercial"
Score 4.0 / 5

I was there for a collector car auction, but what struck me is the city appears "over commercialized".
