Berlin, Germany summarized
Long before the Wall came crumbling down, Berlin was a formidable force in arts, entertainment and cutting-edge technology. So when Germany became reunified, tourist arrivals poured in as many people from around the world wanted to witness the emergence of post-Cold War Berlin. More than ten years after the Reunification, Berlin remains vibrant but empowered in its position as a major urban center in Europe. The last dregs of Communism were preserved as monuments such as the Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie. You can still take a photo with your back against the infamous wall while visiting the Berlin Wall Eastside Gallery. The cold concrete has given graffiti artists a large canvas through which they expressed their elation towards achieving freedom. Kids and kids at heart will not miss the chance to visit Legoland Discovery Center where one can gaze in awe at the life-size structures made from the iconic brick-building toy. To relish more of the refreshing pace of New Berlin, cap the day with dinner and drinks at any of the trendy restaurants dotting Potsdamer Platz, one of the city's important squares revitalized as a commercial and nightlife hub.
