"Terrible Experience!"

The 3rd floor room itself, I would give a 4. Clean, updated and comfortable. It was quiet, even on a busy street. The rest of the stay, if I could give it less than a 1, I would. First off the hotel was under a huge renovation. That should have been disclosed when making the reservation. it was not. The whole bottom floor was a disaster. major disaster! It should have been closed down during this time as it could have been a very unsafe situation with all the construction material, uneven floor coverings and just complete disorganization and loud music blaring through the hallways. And that was just the renovation issues. The hotel staff was very unprofessional and not much friendliness or much work going on that I could tell. We had a three day stay and not once was our room cleaned. We were told they only clean rooms every other day. Most hotels give you the choice, not here. When we requested the room to be cleaned, twice, we were told they would get right on it. Never happened. The first night we had to ask for toilet paper. they left us with less than half a roll. for a three day stay! We had to ask for extra towels since our room never got cleaned and we did get them. with an attitude. We had to gather our garbage and leave it sitting outside our room, again because they didn't clean our room. We also observed other rooms with garbage sitting outside of their doors, so I guess they didn't get cleaned either. Hot breakfast offered. not so! The first morning yes, we did get a hot breakfast. with drywall dust, loud music and construction workers and hotel staff coming in and out getting their own food to eat along with the guests. very unprofessional. The last two mornings there was no hot food due to "dust". even though they weren't doing any drywall or much else during breakfast on those two days. Heard lots of grumbling from guests and guess they also went to the McDonald's down the road like we had to. Indoor pool. yes, but unfortunately that was down also. My credit card was charged with extra costs, when calling main hotel hub, I was guaranteed a return call withing 48 hours from the hotel management we stayed in, explaining what happened. After waiting 51 hours I again called the main hub, they in turn called the hotel management and was told "oh sorry, we will refund the money immediately". Still waiting on that refund. after I called again, myself, to talk to the hotel management the following day. My husband and I have been staying in this hotel almost since it was built. never really had any issues till this time. And I would give them the benefit of a doubt, but the unprofessionalism and seemingly uncaring attitudes of the staff have left me done with this hotel. I guess the Hampton Inn down the road just got a new guest!
