Clearly advertised as having pool, pool was clearly closed for a long term period when we arrived. WiFi didn't work, when called front desk at 5:30 and 5:35 am there was no answer. Val who was working when we checked was very pleasant and helpful.

Property description
Nestled within the charismatic Catskill Mountains, The Holiday Inn Express and Suites opened it's doors in December 2016 and we have established ourselves as a popular lodging preference with an excellent track record for the best customer satisfaction. We have never compromised on the quality nor the services provided to the customer. Our staff believes in keeping the customer happy and providing them with clean, comfortable lodging at a competitive price.
The Holiday Express and Suites is the newest hotel in Kingston and our location makes us more desirable than most. We are located within 1 mile of the business district but out of the way of all of the traffic. We provide a complimentary breakfast which includes a very cool pancake maker that everyone will enjoy and each room is equipped with a safe, a refrigerator, a microwave and a Keurig coffee maker. The hotel features a fitness facility, a business bar and free wifi. We also have a lovely seasonal patio with a fire pit which is conveniently located off of the breakfast area and meeting room. Our parking area provides ample space for Motorcoach or Tractor Trailer Parking. The hotel has a private lot for multiple vehicle types.
Conveniently located to both the Kingston Rhinecliff Bridge and the NYS Thruway, our hotel is the at the gateway of many of the local attractions. The City of Kingston, Village of Saugerties and the Town of Rhinebeck are home to so many fantastic places to visit. The Holiday Inn Express and Suites is nestled within this triangle of local municipalities and most attractions are less than 10 miles from our hotel.
The Hudson Valley boasts some of the most picturesque hiking and walking trails that are available in all seasons. There are so many to choose from that you could spend a couple of days touring the gorgeous countryside.
If craft beverages are of interest, the Hudson River Valley offers a myriad of breweries, distilleries and wineries. We would like to help you set up a beverage trail. There are so many to choose from that you could spend a couple of days touring the gorgeous countryside.
Perhaps historical sites are more to your liking, Kingston was the first Capitol of NYS and the Senate House in uptown Kingston will give you the chance to enjoy many archives of the 1700's and the Dutch settlement in our area. There are also the mansions along the Hudson River such as the Roosevelt and Vanderbuilt Estates in Hyde Park that you may tour.
Speaking of the Hudson River, there are lighthouses abound up and down the river bank. Pack a picnic lunch and watch the boats travel up and down the river.
The historic districts of Kingston are the perfect place to spend the afternoon. The Rondout District is a vibrant and constantly evolving neighborhood. Antique dealers, chefs, and artists have moved into “The Rondout” alongside existing waterfront restaurants, museums and commercial retail establishments, creating a destination known for art, antiques, food, and culture. There is "Brooklyn Vibe" to uptown Stockade District of Kingston. There are amazing restaurants, delicious restaurants and many historic buildings to explore. Uptown offers a walking tour of it's historical dwellings.
Rhinebeck is a mecca for art & culture: visual, performing and dance, and Independent Film. With its Fine Dining, casual bistros, and a thriving locavore movement, Rhinebeck has been touted as one of America's best Gourmet towns. This must be why Chelsea Clinton got married here.
CNN, the NYTimes, and the NYDailyNews have all recognized Saugerties as "the coolest town you have to visit" because of it's fun, funky vibe.
The Town of Woodstock, Colony of the Arts, is within a 15 minute drive from our hotel. Woodstock is a funky little town with great shopping, fun eateries and the Woodstock Film Festival. If you would like to walk the hallowed grounds of the original 1969 concert, you can head to the Town of Bethel. The Museum at Bethel Woods is a destination for anyone who lived through The Sixties or wished they had. The Museum is a perfect day-trip.
For the baseball fan, a quick day trip to Cooperstown is an excellent idea. Other points of interest are the Fly Creek Cider Mill, the beautiful Otsego Lake, the Farmer's Museum, James Fenimore Art Museum and the shopping! Most recently, Kingston Stockade Football, the semi-pro soccer team, has found a home here at Deitz Staduim.
If winter is your season, a quick ride up Route 28 and the greatest skiing, snowbarding and snow tubing that the Hudson Valley has to offer is at Belleyare, Hunter and Windam Ski Resorts. The drive through the Catskill Mountains is magical.
