A visit to Florence Recapped
Firenze, the Italian for Florence, was once the wealthiest and most important city, bringing the height and peak of the Medieval Ages and the Renaissance to the world. Today, much of the bygone era remains untouched throughout the city. It is not surprising that the whole of Florence's historic center was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its impeccable artistic and architectural beauty made it one of the world's most beautiful cities, at least, as seen by Forbes. The city of the Medicis and the Renaissance gem will surely keep you enthralled for weeks. Visiting the hilly Tuscan countryside is easy, as traffic is banned at Florence's tourist destinations. Visitors can admire and wander through Florence's timeless beauty by visiting the stunning Piazza Signora, Piazza Santa Croce, Piazza del Duomo, Loggia dei Lanzi, and the courtyards of the palazzo Veccio. Have a slice of heaven at the Giotto campanile Cathedral, and enter through the Baptistry's East Door, aptly named the Gate to paradise. Be warned though, it isn't heaven yet, you're still standing across the Lombardy plains.
