If you only know Holland as a flat country you are in for a surprise. Hotel Gastronomique De Echoput lies amidst 11.000 hectares of the Crown Forest the original hunting grounds of the Dutch Royal Family. The Royal Palace of Het Loo now a national museum is our esteemed neighbor. De Echoput is a luxury 5 star design hotel and a wonderful gastronomic spot to eat sleep meet and above all to enjoy De Echoput is named after a historic deep well with a nice sounding echo dug by the men of the first King of Holland Lodewijk Napoleon. Queen Wilhelmina gave the order for a small restaurant to be built near the Echoput for the many tourists and in 2007 a beautiful new hotel with gastronomic restaurant was opened. De Echoput is one of the corner stones of Dutch gastronomy. The first Michelin star was already awarded in 1967. De Echoput is still owned and operated by the Klosse family. Tasting and flavour finding the perfect matches of wine and food is the passion of the owner Dr. Peter Klosse. He wrote several gastronomic books on the subject and obtained his PhD. at the University of Maastricht for his thesis. Mission statement Echoput With respect for tradition and its unique roots De Echoput aims at achieving the highest possible level in gastronomy and hospitality.
