Really enjoyed our stay. We must mention Shirley (served us breakfast) and the lady on reception (sorry forgot her name) both very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is a fabulous old building. Great staff and good breakfast. Would we stay there again?Yes we would.

Property description

The County Hotel occupies the oldest building in Carlisle city center. Built during the reign of King George III and occasionally used by royalty during the 19th century this building overlooks the impressive twin Sandstone Towers of Henry VIIIs citadel. The building was converted into a hotel in 1990 retaining the decor and grandeur befitting its Georgian history while providing modern amenities to both leisure and business travelers.
