All seasons are great for diving and surfing or exploring land and culture. While the months from December to May are completely dry, the months from June to November can produce the typical tropical rain showers which makes the surroundings lush and green. Green sustainability
We strongly believe that we need to protect the diversity of nature to secure our quality of life. While building the hotel and creating this inspiring space we always focused on being compatible with the duty to respect nature. Naturally, this approach goes for all actions in our daily hotel management. Last but not least we’d like to invite our guests to follow the famous saying: Take only pictures and leave only footprintsOur sustainability program focuses in four areas:Socioeconomics: Interaction of the hotel with the surrounding communities. The hotel generates benefits and growth with development by creating jobs and supporting local small businesses. Punta Teonoste engaged at large in the close by village “Las Salinas de Nahualapa” with the Communal Thermal Baths. Thanks to the alliance and support of the German Government Cooperation (GIZ), we improved the whole infrastructure of the ponds, baths and necessary amenities. We implemented solar panels where electricity did not arrive, made relevant changes in guaranteeing the hygiene of the place and taught the locals how to use the water efficiently. Nowadays we count on a lively exchange between the community, our hotel and the guests who enjoy a visit by day or night.Natural Environment: Sustainable interaction of the hotel with its natural surroundings through the implementation of programs for the environment. Careful and responsible use of water especially in the dry season. A special focus lies on our Turtle Sanctuary Program. Due to a special coastal law situation, the turtles are unfortunately not protected in practice whilst laying their eggs. In order to prevent poaching of the eggs, our hotel keeps up with a big effort to save the eggs and guarantee the living of the new turtles. The hunting of other wild animals is strictly prohibited within the property.Hotel Infrastructure, Amenities and Supplies: The whole building was constructed with renewable materials, stones and with ecological standards. We count with internal processes for waste management, water and energy saving. We make use of alternative energies and the hotel supplies are organic, biodegradable and environmentally friendly products.Guests: Hotel programs make efforts to invite participation and/or create awareness for the guests in its sustainability, such as the turtle sanctuary.
