"Could Be Better For The Money."
Overall Score3.0/ 5
The first beef with this place was the fact that we had to pay $10/night for my second daughter, as occupancy goes to three for the normal rate and extra for a plus one. We knew of the $15/night pet fee in advance, but not the $100 hold fee or the extra $15/night for my second daughter. We were told on our last day that those with pets had to have housecleaning daily. We were grieving the loss of a family member and didn't want to be disturbed. Front desk was persistent, but we accommodated anyway. Also, this place was the old Nites Inn. This is evident by some of the old signs still in place. Also, the place gave the appearance of being worn out. The carpet was worn and dated and the walls needed a good touch-up and paint throughout. Some rooms had sheets for draperies. The rooms were at least clean when we got them. The hotel in and of itself isn't bad, but the area was dicey. The hotel security caught some guy rummaging through the cars on our first night. The hotel security is intense with cameras and roaming guards. We didn't expect that and it was unnerving a bit. Also, there were windows scratched with graffiti. I reported most of it to the front desk on our first whole day there, but nothing happened. Who knows how long it was there before us or long it would stay. On a positive note, the security staff were nice enough and regular staff were very courteous. The breakfast bar was nice and highlighted by delicious waffles. They had a full array of TV channels to choose from which is nice. The beds were comfy. The showers were amazing. I liked having soap and lotion dispensers next to the sink as well as shampoo/ conditioner/body wash dispensers in the shower. They have a set of dual sprayers in front of you half way down in the shower which is nice. The shaving in shower mirror was a big plus as well. The barbecue was cool, but the pool needed to be cleaned more regularly. In total, this place could be better with a freshening up. It wasn't bad overall. Our stay had some bright points. If management invested a bit more on aesthetics and overall infrastructure, this would have been nicer.
