InternalWe have a bahaviour practice of three Rs - Reduce, Re-use, Recycle. Following are some of our practices:- Lights off when cleaning rooms; the team uses natural daylight- Linen is changed every second day. - There are tent cards in rooms that long staying guests use to communicate on when they want their linen changed.- Laundry observes a minimum of two dry days when all equipment is rested. Further, an evening shift is in place so most washing happen at night when tariffs are lower and to reduce the KVA- There is and Energy Committee tasked with sustainability oversight and meets monthly- Room allocation is well managed to swith off Mini Fridges in unoccupied rooms and water heaters in unoccupied floorsCommercial Areas- There is motion sensor lighting on corridors and commercial areas- The hotel uses solar to pre-heat water- the hotel uses recyclable glass bottles for water in rooms and dispensers in meeting roomsWaste Management- 97% of the hotel's waste is recycled- The hotel recycles paper for internal prints.- The hotel re-uses used bar soaps to make powder soap for hand wash laundry- left over bottled water is collected in bigger containers and used to supplement irrigation on our gardens- Garden waste is collected and made into compost that is used as manure for the gardens.Suppliers- The hotel has engaged suppliers to clean fruits and vegetables at source- The hotel is supplied with chopped potatoes and sliced chips for fries- The hotel uses bio degradable teabags on all the herbal teasManagement Commitment- There is commitment from top management on sustainability. There are annual assessments and performance based recognition and rewards - The hotel has invested heavily on equipment for evaluation and monitoring utility usage; in particular water and electricity.
