Trying to wait till I'm less upset, but the review is happening on the first of our two nights here. First of all, when I booked the room, I booked it for three adults and one child (16 year old). Upon checkin we realized we were given a room with one king bed. Tried to change it, they didn't have any rooms with two doubles available. So now one person is sleeping on the couch and another on the floor. When the very nice guy at the front desk offered to send up extra bedding, we figured we'd make the best of it. It didn't show up so around 8 pm we called down and asked for two sets of extra bedding. One was sent. We called down and asked for another set and two more towels since the room was only set up for two people, to four. The second set of bedding was sent, but no extra towels. Very frustrated, especially as we're here for two nights. It's really annoying to pay full price for a hotel and have to sleep on the floor and then have to keep asking for supplies the room should have come with.

After making reservations I was told we had no reservations in Washington DC. I called three times then canceled credit card. I have been a ihc member for 20 years. I will never again stay at a holiday inn property.

Although the hotel room was very nice and comfortable, we were very disappointed to learn that the restaurant, bar and rooftop pool were closed. Being in DC without a car, we would have made good use of the bar and restaurant and we were really looking forward to the rooftop pool experience with the Capitol dome in sight. Also our single cup coffee maker did not work properly. Hotel location was great but we were not happy about the amenities being closed.

I usually get a good nights sleep while staying at Holiday Inns. That's why I book with them. Not here at HI Capitol. My "Standard" room was located at the rear of the hotel next to the RR tracks leading to Union Station. That's not the worst part. The pillows were uncomfortable, the A/C unit is LOUD and on our last night we heard females with shrieking laughter at 1:30 am, waking us up from our sleep! The only eateries near the hotel are McD's and Starbucks. The room is equipped with a Keurig and a mini fridge, otherwise you order from Grubhub, etc. The hotel is four blocks from L'Enfant Metro stop. The hotel is within walking distance from The Mall and The Capitol making this the top reason to consider staying here.

I booked a "standard room" for a good price. Our room was in the rear of the hotel facing the RR tracks which lead into Union Station. I usually sleep well in Holiday Inn's, but not this one. The A/C system is really, really loud. The pillows are not comfortable. The room was hot (in November) and the parking is PRICEY. On our last night, an adjacent room full of high pitched girls and women were up late talking and laughing. This was at 1:30 am. No hotel restaurants were open due to Covid. They have a small snack, drink, packaged food area to purchase items. My one bottle of Coors Light was $11! Walk to L'Enfant Metro station is about four five blocks. Only food spots right next to hotel are McD's and Starbucks. The location is near the Mall and Capitol. That was the positive. If I do go back to DC, I'm going to try another hotel. Maybe Hilton's Tru if they have a location there.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel.the valet personnel seem very lazy, the ladies that work the front desk were all professional and courteous. One of the cups in my Room was dirty when I arrived it made me wonder what else they had not properly cleaned.

This was my first stay here and it was a pleasant experience. It is in a very central location to walk to many different things to do. The parking was a bit much but it was average for what you pay in most DC locations. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the room was comfortable for my overnight stay.

Great hotel in DC, the staff were very friendly and helpful in planning activities to maximize our time in DC. The hotel is one block from the national mall and the Smithsonian museums. There are two places to eat right in the hotel. The metro subway is one block away. No need for a car as public transportation is awesome and easy to get anywhere you want to go.I would strongly recommend Holiday Inn Capital as a great place to stay in DC.

It was definitely nice and clean. The employees are very friendly and helpful Enjoyed being able to check up when I arrived Like not paying a future for parking and was able to go in and out .. Room was immaculately clean. My main complaint was about the air circulation; not comfortable for sleeping. The shape of the room has something to do with it. A ceiling fan could correct the problem, but is probably out of the question. The thermostat is directly opposite the air unit, but the bed is tucked off to the side and not receiving any benefits of the A/C. Too uncomfortable for a good night's sleep for me!

For the price paid, the experience was very good. The room was clean, however there was a small issue with the heater/ac being very loud. It was nice bonus to have the kids meal be free with dinner at the hotel restaurant.
