"Expedia, not motel 6 is the screw up here"
Overall Score2.0/ 5
Okay, for starters, a motel 6 is not a Ritz Carlton. This very well could be the understatement of the 21st century. Still... there are things you expect to have happen and work when you check into - even a motel 6. 1. I booked my motel 6 through Expedia because my brother n law said that it was the best deal going - especially for my purpose. Last time I take advice from my brother n law. Expedia gave me a rate of $65.00/nite and told me that the Motel 6 was less than a third of a mile from the Arizona State College campus where I had business for two days. I wanted to walk there. Turns out when I got to the motel 6 the campus was over a mile and a half. Not the end of the world but it turned out to be a 45 minute walk. I drove the second day because of time considerations. 2. I told Expedia I wanted a no smoking room. I bet you can fill in the blank here and tell me what happened next. FYI, I wasn't the only one stuck with a smoking room. The people in front of me and the folks behind me all had the same complaint. They booked a non smoking room yet we were all assigned a smoking room when we got there. 3. Let's revisit Expedia for a moment. The rate was $65.00/nite and they said that was a great deal. NOT REALLY. As it turns out that is the same price people get when they walked in off the street. There are no deals, at least with Expedia, at least with this Motel 6. AND what makes it worse is if you have a problem, the management at Motel 6 can blame Expedia. It is easy to divorce yourself from the issue when Motel 6 doesn't make the booking direct. To Motel 6's credit, the manager was very understanding and got me a no smoking room the next day but the guy on duty the night before more or less towed the company line in that any issues I should take up with Expedia since I already paid them. I learned a lesson - Fuck Expedia. There are no deals and it makes life more difficult to deal with any issues that come up. 4. The toilets don't have adequate pressure to do what toilets are supposed to do. Nuff said. 5. How about I leave the light on. Thanks. Do I get any money for completing this survey? Miles
