This is the second time I've stayed at the Buckhorn and both times I've come in off the road after a long hard day. I've felt welcome and well taken care of both times. Last night in particular I didn't time in the bar talking with the bartender and group of locals. it was wonderful.

"Oasis in the Valley"
Overall Score5.0/ 5
We had a magical stay at the Buckhorn. It was our first time to the Cuyama Valley so we didn't quite know what to expect. Thankfully, the owners and staff at the Buckhorn had thought of everything we would need. The rooms and grounds were perfectly appointed. A vintage vibe with all the modern amenities. Loved the little patio area outside our room, the communal lawn games and fire pits. The bar and restaurant exceeded our expectations. The bar program is out of this world. The guy behind the bar is so creative and personable. Between the four of us we tried almost very drink and they were all delicious. As for the restaurant, the food was super tasty and beautifully plated. The BBQ, which we could smell cooking all day, was tender and flavorful. If you're going to visits Carrizo Plains or are heading out for a drive through the valley, I highly recommend you get one of their picnic baskets. They can with drinks, two sandwiches, a huge salad, chips and the biggest chocolate chip cookies I've ever seen. I've already told all my friends about The Buckhorn. We can't wait for our next visit to the valley. Ps. There is an adorable cat named Bucky that will come into your room and demand cuddles and pets. Bucky was the cherry on top!
