"Good beds, terrible smell, lukewarm staff."
Overall Score3.0/ 5
We chose this hotel because we had stayed there a few years ago and found it very good. However, our experience this time was less than optimal. We had reservations but because we arrived at 9pm, we were given the last room available. It reeked of dog urine although the window had been left open. When we complained the next morning and requested a new room, the clerk said we should have said something last night and he could have sprayed freshener. In my opinion, this would have only compounded the problem. After packing our bags and returning later that day, we were indeed given another room. This one happily did not reek of urine; instead someone had apparently used an entire bottle of air freshener in it you could taste it. Still, it was an improvement. The beds were very nice and the bathrooms/water pressure were very nice. The staff has unusual hours: the same clerk was there from 9pm Friday night until sometime late Saturday night. We only saw someone new when we checked out Sunday morning. The first clerk was not particularly friendly and insisted that what we smelled was not urine, but air conditioning chemicals. He insisted that pets were not allowed on that floor, but we saw one and we know how urine smells. Overall, it was not a good experience and I am seriously regretting having prepaid at this hotel for another trip we plan on making later this year.
