"Disappointed Marriott member."
Overall Score2.0/ 5
My name is MaryAnn Sharpless not Mary Ann. My husband and I have stayed at numerous Marriotts and this was one of our more disappointing visits. On a positive note the front desk clerks were pleasant and helpful. The room was standard and fine. The breakfast buffet was standard fare but some days the hot food was cold. But my biggest frustration was registration. I tried to call the local hotel so I could talk to local people myself. but all I could contact was a standard central registration desk. The woman I spoke to seem to have a problem understanding English. My first name is two words ;she wrote the second half of my first name as my last name. So when I arrived at the registration desk, they could not find our registration. Also, I had requested a walk in shower. It did not have to be a roll in shower or a room for handicap person. The Woman told me there were no handicap rooms. She also didn't know if the rooms had showers or tubs. Luckily, as I stated at the beginning, the gentleman at the front desk in Sandusky was able to match the registration number and we eventually figured it out. He also was able to give us a room for handicap people, so we had a roll in shower. My second complaint was the Cleaning or lack of cleaning. No one touched our room the first two days. However because of the roll in shower, the water tended to run on the ties, so we had to use towels as floor mats. On the third day I went to the front desk with a list of requests: to replace towels ,clean the bathroom and remove trash. It was done that third day. However, the fourth day we again had no service ; we were there five days. During Covid, we stayed in a Marriott in Akron. The cleaning service was different due to health concerns at that time. However, we had better maid service then than we did in Sandusky in March, 2025.
