Too long to write but the summary is the baker manager approached a problem in an authoritative manner with lines such as “look I've had a long day” and “I'm not yelling at you you'll know when I'm yelling at you,” and gaslighting after I swore about hating my car (using the f word) yelling that I was swearing at him no I swore in front of him but it was also about the car, not anything g to do with him but he couldn't let it go. Worse the whole lobby was watching as he and his coworker continued to yell at me while I was in line and no one called the manager to work things out. The guy probably did have a long day but so did I would have been helpful for a coworker or manager to step in and work out the problem instead of throw more gas on it. Front desk how has your stay been so far? “Not so good.” I'm sorry to hear that would you mind changing rooms to one king bed? “No”. Thank you that would help us out a lot. “I aim to please”. Well you're getting an upgrade and not charging you for it. — this is what is being said to me after I just said yes, I would accommodate her request. The whole experience is an embarrassment to the Marriott and MSU the #2 college in the nation for hotel management. When I went down to find out the name of the valet his coworker walked up and said “manager—and say what you want but I was there and you were swearing at him”. And he continued to bait me as I left. I was there with my brother who was incredulous at how much I paid to have this experience on my one weekend off.

The Graduate East Lansing is a great option, the best in the area. I travel to Michigan frequently for business and stay at the Graduate whenever I can. The rooms are clean and well decorated, the rooftop bar is fun and the staff is friendly and responsive. Recommend!
