Ardmore, Oklahoma, is a city in Carter County. The city is about 90 miles north of Dallas, Texas, and 90 miles south of Oklahoma City. Ardmore is considered a micropolitan city of Oklahoma because it's an economic hub for the ten surrounding counties in South-Central Oklahoma. The city was named after a Philadelphia suburb, which in turn was named after Ardmore, Ireland.
