I was excited to stay at this hotel, but the experience was frustrating from the start. When I arrived, I was told I could pay to check in early at noon. I returned at noon as instructed, but the room wasn't ready. I was then told it would be ready around two p.m., then after three p.m., then “a little longer,” and finally, around 5:30 p.m., I was given my room. Even then, the room did not match what I had booked. My reservation clearly stated it was for five people, but the room only accommodated four. It was not the room I requested on the phone. Instead, I was booked into a smaller room that didn't meet our needs. My friend, who booked the correct room I originally wanted that same morning, paid half the price I did and was able to check in much earlier. That made the situation even more frustrating. To make matters worse, my son had to sleep without a proper bed and it took over two hours just to receive an extra blanket. This was disappointing, especially since we had been looking forward to our stay. We did enjoy the pool area, which was a nice part of the hotel. The hotel also offered a late checkout to help make up for the delays and issues, but unfortunately, we weren't able to take advantage of it due to our plans the next day. Although my card was charged under the hotel's name, something about the phone call when I booked felt off. The man I spoke with was more focused on convincing me to book a different room than the one I was asking for. I tried to call the hotel several times over the next week to confirm the reservation and make sure I got the correct room, but no one ever answered the phone. This entire experience was disappointing, especially considering how excited we were for this trip and location. If this was the kind of experience I wanted I could have stayed at a typical cheap hotel. My bed was comfortable. The pool was nice and the building was beautiful. I do believe that a better job could be done here and a lot of it could start by answering the phone and listening to your guests with the intention of helping them.
