"Worst Stay Ever."

I reserved a one queen bed room at the Clarkson Inn for Monday, February 24, 2025. It was an unbelievably high rate, as it was the last room of its kind available. Upon checking in, I was informed through signage that the Inn was under renovation. The hotel was cluttered and dirty. Once I arrived at my room, I discovered that I had a two bed room, which was not the last one and I was therefore overcharged. The room was dirty in places; there was mold in the bathroom; the bathroom ceiling needed repair, the furniture needed refinishing or replacement; there were cup/mug stains on the wooden and marble furniture tops; and the chairs were rickety – I was afraid to sit in them. I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible the next morning – I felt so dirty. The hotel should have been closed under such conditions. Shame on Best Western. I will never stay at one of their establishments again.

"Moved to Different Hotel with no Notice."

My reservation was switched to a different hotel which was found out upon arrival. No advance notice and the front desk staff was not accommodating. Considering I made the reservations four months prior its disappointing as it was now a 30 min walk from the venues I had reservations at vs. a five min walk. Unfortunately the options in Potsdam are extremely limited so no other options for future visits.
