This Four Points by Sheraton is a lovely property, one of the nicest examples I have seen of the brand. It is slightly different from most Four Points, in that is has more of a stylized boutique feel than the straightforward design of most Four Points properties. Their three best features are: their restaurant, (which is surprisingly elegant), their heated outdoor lounge (which seemed like an awesome place to hang out at night), and their location (which is pretty perfectly placed right in downtown). The sleeping rooms were also nice, with very clean and efficient design. I think this would be a great hotel for business groups. They have all of the usual Four Points features that caters to corporate travel, plus a wonderful restaurant and lounge that could both suffice for casual evening meetings. This hotel would be good for leisure groups as well, since they have enough style that the hotel definitely doesn't feel “all business”. The outdoor lounge also has the only public Bocce Ball courts in the city, I believe, which is a big draw. They do not have a ton of meeting space, but there are two rooms that can host a board meeting or small conference. These rooms definitely are windowless “all business” spaces though, so they would not really suffice for a social event of any kind. In general, this is very good property and I would recommend it to all groups, especially those with productive corporate intentions.

Property Description

The second oldest hotel in downtown San Jose. The Four Points by Sheraton's striking renaissance revival architecture blends handsomely with the casual elegance and amenities that today's traveler expects. The spectacular public spaces showcase the best design from the 20th century, including glass-paneled chandeliers from the 20's, wingback chairs from the 30's and modern artwork from the 70's. The former Hotel Montgomery(now Four Points by Sheraton) is a treasure of San Jose that dates back to 1911.
