The front desk staff work diligently to meet your needs. I suggest calling ahead as this hotel is very popular and specific rooms go quickly. This hotel is within walking distance to MUSC for those wishing to avoid the heavy traffic and walk to your appointment. The Valet team is great and provides help and directions. Love the location!

We brought a small dog with us and let them know at the front desk. We knew dogs were allowed but didn't realize there was a fee. We took the dog with us almost all the time and told the hotel staff. We asked for a reduced rate on the fee. The front desk took our information and said the General Manager would follow up. Since the room was never cleaned during our stay and we paid $200 extra, it would be nice to receive at least half of the fee if not all of the fee. The dog weighs 7 pounds. The Francis Marion Hotel, located in the heart of historic Charleston, South Carolina, was the largest and grandest in the Carolinas when it opened in 1924. Named for General Francis Marion, the "Swamp Fox" of the American Revolution, the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston re-opened in 1996 after a $12 million National Trust award-winning restoration, and is once again Charleston's Grand Hotel.
