The staff were polite and friendly. The room was extremely dark making it hard to wear any makeup. There was limited hanger space in the closet and bathroom and little to no counter space near the sink. Tried to open the shades only to spread all the dust from them and from the top shelf of the window. It hasn't been dusted in weeks. The desk and bed were clean. Breakfast was basic. Shower was hot enough but could not adjust the water pressure and water would accumulate within less than a minute.

Had confirmation for two rooms with two queen beds each. One room had a double bed only and a pull out sofa bed. sofa bed didn't have sheets on it. took four calls of complaint to front desk to get a blanket to the room. Booked through 3rd party website so having way too much challenge getting a refund. Hard to believe it takes over 24 hours to make a call to get a resolution.

Property Description

The historic Charlotte Dunhill Hotel in Uptown, originally opened as the Mayfair Manor in 1929, is one of North Carolina's members of Historic Hotels of America and one of its first luxury establishments. Designed by architect Louis Asbury, Sr., the Historic Dunhill opened in Charlotte in 1929 as the fashionable Mayfair Manor apartment hotel. Half of the original 100 rooms were rented by permanent tenants and it thrived even during the Great Depression. Upon its completion, its singular architecture and powering presence added immeasurably to the city's skyline. Fully restored, the ten-story hotel is a landmark in the arts community and cultural district. Its refined architecture with neo-classical embellishments adds character and a distinctive shape to the Uptown skyline. The lobby and guest rooms feature elegant 18th-century European furnishings, hand-sewn draperies and original works of art. The penthouse retains its original marble floor with double balconies offering panoramic views of Charlotte. Today, the elegant Dunhill Hotel is one of Charlotte's few remaining historic landmarks of that distinctive period in history. It provides visitors and guests with an ambiance reminiscent of a by gone era. The Dunhill successfully combines the elegance found in the luxury hotels of Europe with an American sense of comfort and service, creating a place where the guest experience is unsurpassed.
