"Southeast Colorado At Its Finest"
The city of La Junta is located about 60 miles east of Pueblo. A popular tourist spot is Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site. This reconstructed trading post located on the Santa Fe Trail, one of the nation's first trading routes, was the actually the last U.S. outpost before crossing the Arkansas River and entering into Mexico. As a visitor, you can experience fort life and view the period furnishings. Farming also dominates the landscape along the river and miles and miles of grasslands north or south of US Highway 50.
