'What a week of sun can do, a month of rehab can't!”
Roger Federer, perhaps the best tennis player of all time and a frequent visitor of Canary Islands, used the words quoted above to allow us a glimpse into the unwinding process of one of the best athletes in the world, who probably has one of the most overworked bodies in the world. If it works for his body, there's no reason it shouldn't work for yours!

This is not all wordplay, though. There is some serious potential in Canary Islands to help people get back on their feet when they are overstressed or tired of catching things life throws at them.

Lanzarote is one proud Canary Island among dozens of others. It is, even though not too different at first sight from others in the archipelago, quite unique in its own way. So, before any tourist dismisses the idea of travelling to Lanzarote due to the same perception, we would like to put this on record with a great emphasis that if you like a good, quiet sunny holiday, Lanzarote is where you should be, come your next vacation time!

Affordable Lodging in Lanzarote

It is a well-established observation that holidaying in Spain can be quite less expensive than holidaying in other European countries. Take France for example. A weekend spent in Marseilles can cost you many times over of what a weekend spent in Canary Islands would. So, in that sense, a vacation to Lanzarote becomes much more appealing to the senses as well as your credit card.

Talking about economical vacations, a discussion about cheap hotels seems to be much due in order. Although there aren't too many cheap hotels per se here in Lanzarote, you are sure to find some good deals on fairly priced accommodation options that you can safely count on if basic amenities is all that you are looking for.

In Playa Blanca, the Lanzasur Club is a definite budget option that has been very well received by tourists over the years. It has all the traits of a luxury hotel – good location, waterfront views, great kitchen, spacious rooms and delightful hospitality – barring the taxing prices.

Ficus comes up next in line of affordable hotels in Lanzarote. Located in Costa Teguise, it is another waterfront hotel that will be able to offer convenience of commute from the airport, too!

Must See Sights and Places in Lanzarote

Timanfaya National Park is the shining beacon of sightseeing in Lanzarote. It has a very impressive collection of animal specimens from around the world.

Other sites include:

  • Fundacion Cesar Manrique
  • Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park
  • Scuba Diving Sites
  • Surfing Schools
  • Marina Rubicon

Luxury Resorts in Lanzarote

There is simply no denying the fact that the only proper way of making the most of a holiday on a tourists' favorite island is by booking a luxury hotel, even if your budget allows for a mere short stay. There is something about such luxury resorts that ordinary ones seem to lack. That sense of neatness and a brand of hospitality that just cannot materialize at low prices combine together to create a perfectly fine experience that appeals to one's senses as much as it doesn't appeal to one's pocket.

Hipotels Natura Palace is one such luxury hotel that just cannot be ignored if you are travelling to Lanzarote. It has all the facilities required to make the stay of its guest rise from good to great – and then some!

Seaside Los Jameos Playa is a similar luxury resort in Lanzarote that boasts of unique views of Los Jameos harbor.

Jardines Hotel can also be put on your shortlist of luxury Lanzarote hotels if the need to resort to the plan C confronts you!

Hotels Near Airport in Lanzarote

Many tourists who travel to Lanzarote have to use the Lanzarote International Airport as their port of entry onto the island. The airport is also known as Arrecife Airport. It is located in the town of Arrecife in Los Palamas, just about 5 km from the center of the island.

Because of such short distance, it is often easier for tourists to make the trip from the airport to the island center, instead of spending time looking for lodging options nearby the airport. So, you will be much better off staying at one of many good Lanzarote hotels.

If you still wish to choose a hotel that is near the Arrecife Airport, you cannot go wrong with Santa Maria Hotel in Arrecife that is just about 2 km drive away from the airport. It is an American styled motel that is designed for a short night's stay, especially for the convenience of traveler's who miss flights or whose flights are delayed/cancelled!

Weather in Lanzarote

Sporting a very, very typical Canary weather pattern, Lanzarote is open for tourists all year round – no exceptions made!

The weather here is as good as it gets. Temperatures are often found to be steady and warm – ranging from 20 to 35 degrees, depending upon the time of the year. Rain is not a problem here in Lanzarote, as average annual rainfall in this part of the world is well below the average.

Travelers to Europe know that months between October and February are typically months that are marked by snow, storms and sleet. But on the contrary, in Lanzarote, the case couldn't be more opposite. These five months are perhaps the best ones as far tourism prospects are concerned.

These months have the most agreeable temperature gradient, as well. Much too predictably, these are also the months that hotels in Lanzarote upscale their room tariffs in, so as to make the most of incoming tourist frenzy from across the world.

All things said and done, it must be reiterated that you just have to experience Canary Islands – Lanzarote in particular – to understand how big an influence a few days spend in golden sunshine and on sandy beaches can be on your life!
