The route 66 festival is second to none other events I've been too!
I like Springfield. Our family used to drive over for shopping for the day. We no longer do that. Not many places to shop anymore.

Lots of things to do in city much to name but there is something for everyone. Find something new to explore everytime we go back.
The Power light Abe Lincoln Car Show was the main reason why I was there. I love going there and meeting the celebrities who are there.

My daughter , grandchildren and great grandchildren live in Springfield.
Knights adventure park was a big hit with our group. We spent about 8 hours there and enjoyed every minute.
Loved eating at local restaurants and visiting the historic sites. We did the find Abe's Hat adventure! Weather was topical summer hot and it rained some on Sunday.
I will only ever stay at the Drury Inn & Suites I have stayed there 6 times already.
I was there for a graduation and the center was close to hotel.
I like to hear the stories of the "Mother Road" route 66. I'd like to spend more time studying all the historic events.
Springfield has wonderful restaurants and parks. We enjoyed eating at Japan House and walking in the beautiful Washington Park.

Husband had surgery at St. John's hospital and spent 1 night.
We only stayed there because my work Christmas Party was in Taylorville and this was the best option to not have to drive home. We had to drive 1.5 ours to get the the party location, so driving home after open bar wasn't a smart choice. Another couple I work with stayed there as well.
We have family there, enjoy the restaurants.

We came for a wedding. We did have time to visit the cemetery where Lincoln was buried.
It's interesting. A lot of one way streets but with an address and google maps, easy to get around.

The Abraham Lincoln hotel is very close to the hospital which we were visiting for the birthday of our grandson. It was a perfect distance to be there quickly when the birthing process began and the little one arrived.
