Below are reviews of the city of New Harmony, IN from an actual visitor's perspective.
Staff at the two restaurants were great. Ghost walk was wonderful, very interesting and informative. Made up for the worst tour guide we've ever had anywhere who led the afternoon tram tour. Highly recommend the ghost walk and the Mexican restaurant.
The Workingman's Institute is one of the reasons we stayed in New Harmony while visiting family in nearby Mt. Vernon. There is a great selection of shops and restaurants. I particularly enjoy visiting the Athenaeum which is a striking building designed by Richard Meier.
The town is lovely. Great place to visit with all the downtown shops, bars, eating establishments, etc. along with all the history and a great visitors center.
Good coffee shop and Yellow Lantern snacks!
Love the ambience, the quiet, the charm.
The town and everyone we encountered was very friendly. We ate at the Yellow Tavern, food was very good but only take cash, they do have an ATM on premises. We had two 20 year old girls who could not go in, so we ordered to go food and they went back to the hotel. Ate at the main cafe for breakfast, delicious. Lunch at The Say was also very good, staff very friendly. Final supper and breakfast at the Red Geranium was pricy but excellent!
The friendliness of inhabitants! The peaceful atmosphere. The quality of food at Inn's restaurant. Great coffee from Black Lodge. Good service at Sarah's Restaurant. Interesting places to visit.
Red Geranium Restaurant!
We had a nice breakfast at Sara's on the corner. New Harmony is a fun place to be.
