Palatka has many historical spots. The local park Ravine Gardens is a beautiful walk especially when the azaleas are in bloom.

Well, there were some good restaurants and the St. John's River is an attraction. The best thing though was the help we received from the Palatka Chamber of Commerce. Our daughter was in hospice at a care center in Palatka and we came down from MN. We tried to make reservations at about every motel in Palatka and each one told us they were full due to a Georgia Power Conference being held. We were desperate so we called the Chamber of Commerce and a woman there did all she could to try to find us a place to stay. She was the best thing about Palatka.
Palatka had a long and storied history before the Civil War and has an interesting downtown focused on it past.
The restaurant in the old building that was restored with a beautiful garden. We could see the place from our hotel room window.
Loved being right on the river and enjoyed the small town festival atmosphere.
I love the Corky Bell's Seafood at Gator Landing over in East Palatka, the service and food were outstanding.
The oldest diner was right across the street from the hotel. Cool!
