The Jackson center point is approximately the area of Jackson Town Square and the area of Downtown Jackson.
Winters in Jackson grow bitterly cold, so you'll only want to visit between November and February if you're looking forward to strapping on a pair of skis. Even then, you'll want to shoot for January and February to get the best powder and to avoid the icy streets that often develop during early winter. Expect highs in the 20s and lows below zero, so don't forget to pack plenty of warm clothing to protect yourself.
If you're interested in seeing animals, shoot for an April or May vacation. You'll get to see the animals emerge from hibernation, and many local fauna have spawned and produced baby animals. You'll get to see all stages of wildlife if you visit the right destinations, and the temperatures will have warmed up enough to step outside without a ski jacket.
Most people visit Jackson in the summer because of the weather and convenience, but this increased tourist traffic drives up hotel rates and increases crowding. You're better off visiting during the shoulder seasons if you're interested in rest, relaxation, and quietude. Just as a spring vacation offers animal sightings, a fall vacation brings beautiful color changes on the local foliage. The tourists have fled the region, so you'll enjoy plenty of the town to yourself.
You won't find many hotel discounts in Jackson because most hotels are privately owned. However, some offer discounts for senior citizens and military personnel, so you might be able to save up to 10 percent off your final hotel bill. You can also get better rates if you book ahead because you're guaranteeing an occupied room. Since Jackson hotels lean toward the expensive side, every dollar knocked off the price becomes valuable.
To get the most bang for your buck, consider staying at The Wort Hotel. It's housed in a beautiful Tudor revival building with a brick, half timbering, and stucco facade. The rooms are decorated with a Southwest theme and feature the odd glam accent to make the space feel especially appealing. You'll see the most animals in Jackson if you visit in spring, and you'll have a plethora of opportunities. For instance, you can go hiking in Grand Teton National Park, which covers over 300,000 acres of beautiful Wyoming country. The John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway is the best place to start if you don't feel like strapping on your hiking boots just yet. If you drive slowly, you'll see animals on the side of the road. Feel free to stop and take pictures from a distance, but don't approach any wildlife.
You can also see nature up close and personal at the National Elk Refuge. It's not an enclosed sanctuary, but the elk return every winter to find abundant food supplies. They also remain during the spring as they care for their young, so you won't want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you're visiting during the winter, you can take a sleigh tour with a refuge employee, which might help you get closer to the animals.

Jackson has a great vibe, very tourist-friendly, good stores, cafes, and restaurants. Of course it's the gateway to Grand Teton NP. Yellowstone is further, but an enjoyable drive.
The city of Jackson is great: nice vibe, ala Aspen, CO. The hotel is conveniently located downtown with immediate access to the main routes to Grand Teton NP and also Yellowstone NP.

Jackson has a charming Western themed downtown with plenty of dining options. Spending time downtown is made easy with free public parking lots and restrooms, allowing visitors to enjoy walking the boardwalks to shop, eat and enjoy the historic region.
Room was great, clean and comfortable. Dinner at Snake River Grill was 5star! Entertainment and food at Silver Dollar Bar were awesome!

Jackson is beautiful.
The hotel is about two blocks from the Town Square. The four corners of the square each have arches made from elk antlers. The square is surrounded by lovely shops and great restaurants!
The hotel is walking distance to the downtown and the Hertz Car Rental. There is a bus to the ski slope that stops in front of the hotel and the hotel provides a shuttle to the town.

Teton Village is a much nicer experience than Jackson.
