We were able to spend Thanksgiving with our son,daughter in law and our Grandson. We enjoyed the shopping in town and all the history w/in the waterfront park. We loved exploring the historic cemetery and reading about the people and history behind their deaths. We had never before had seen the men who gave their lives in the Civil War. Their Gravestones told their rank and area of service in the CSA. In RI Graves do not have the Union Markings. As parents of a son serving in the Airforce and having few flags on the service members Graves was sad. They all need to be honored.
The local restaurants were full of great food. We had a wonderful time in Apalachicola.

We really enjoy the historic city of Apalachicola, especially the views of Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. We enjoyed the seafood restaurants and the shops. It is also enjoyable to have a leisurely few days to unwind and read a good book. The people are very friendly there also.

The only comment I can make is that it is a very friendly town. Every resident we encountered and the hotel staff were sweet and helpful. The town was mostly closed down for Christmas which is part of its charm. I suspect it is very busy in the summertime.
