The Yukon center is about 4 miles east of The Palace Event Center and 7 miles west of Southern Nazarene University.
Yukon experiences four seasons: cold winters, mild springs, hot and sometimes rainy summers, and pleasant, warm autumns. If you want to spend time at the lake, visit the Yukon area in the summer. The fine summer weather offers the ideal time to plan an outing to Oklahoma City with Flat Tide, one of the largest stand-up paddleboard operations in the country. You'll gain a whole new perspective on the landscape from atop a paddleboard, paddling on Lake Overholser.
Year-round, there's something fun and family-friendly happening in Yukon. The year kicks off with a grand firework display for New Year's Day, and in February, the Kid's Trout Fish Out invites children accompanied by adults to hook a rainbow or golden trout at Dale Robertson Center Pond and vie for gift cards and prizes.
Head to Chisholm Trail Park for Freedom Fest in July or come on Labor Day to tuck into tasty food truck fare while you enjoy live music and a fireworks display. Those boasting Czech heritage will never forget a visit during the annual Czech Fest, held the first weekend in October. The event includes a parade with candy thrown to children in the crowd, carnival rides, a car show, and plenty of authentic Czech performances and cultural experiences to enjoy.
Runners should plan a visit during the Chill Your Cheeks 5K in early November, and come Christmas, the holiday lights display is simply breathtaking. Kids will particularly love the Polar Express-themed train ride and lights display during the winter holiday season.

Spacious, well-equipped Chisholm Trail Park features gazebos, walking trails, picnic shelters, and a waterway, as well as new playground equipment. This park plays host to many of Yukon's large community events.
Sunrise Park is the place to go if you need to cool off on a hot summer's day, especially if you're traveling with children. The park's shady pavilions are perfect hideaways for parents who prefer the shade, while kids can splash in the fountains and water features just steps away. Come together for a picnic lunch. In the off-season, the paved sections offer plenty of space for scooters and bikes and a nearby play structure offers year-round recreation.
Yukon's Freedom Trail Park offers yet more playgrounds, water features, and an impressive holiday light show in winter. Kimbell Park is the place for those who love to get active. Hit the tennis court, play a game of hoops on the basketball court, or take a dip in the pool. After all that action, you can enjoy a refreshment break under a pavilion and watch the kids cavort on the playground.
Visit Lake Overholser Park nearby in Oklahoma City if you're looking for serious fun on the water. This reservoir offers boat ramps, a pavilion, and a fishing pier.
Whether you're planning on cruising down Route 66 or have work in Oklahoma City that takes you to the area, Yukon will delight you with its unique character and warm welcome.
