Depending on your comfort with different weather conditions, you might want to plan a trip to Truro keeping weather fluctuations in mind — average temperatures here can vary significantly as calendar pages turn. The area is less temperate than other travel destinations and can feel pretty cold for about half the year. June through September often brings the best weather, with July, August, and September boasting the warmest temperatures. Highs in early August can reach nearly 80, and the lows don't usually drop below the mid-50s.
It's no wonder, then, that, July, followed by August and June, see the biggest numbers in terms of tourism. You'll find that prices for travel can be more expensive in this period. The winter, and December in particular, don't bring a lot of crowds, so you'll likely find good deals if you don't mind braving the cold.
Cooler temperatures and humidity make springtime in Truro feel moderately cold, with highs ranging from the lower 30s to the mid to high 60s as you move from March through May. Rain is also pretty common. Spring is the second busiest time of year for tourism, though, so you'll also find a lot to do in the area. Summer — June through August — brings comfortable temperatures; this is a great place to go if you're looking for a summer getaway to beat the heat. The summer months can be rainy, and more tourism may mean higher prices for accommodations.
Highs in the fall can range from the lower 70s in September down to the low 40s through November. It's also humid and windy, and it may rain or snow often. December through February gets even colder, with a lot of rain or snow and high temperatures only ranging from the low 40s down to the mid-20s in the winter months. As a result, not many tourists go to Truro in the autumn or winter, and you may be able to nab great deals if you plan your travel then.
