This sort of philosophy of favoring the work over the trend in an artistic sense is a part of the heritage of his hometown of Bilbao in many ways. One can even see this in the hotels in Bilbao as they are exotic yet laid back in a fashion that is similar to the work of many artists who come from there. Of course, what the city truly is known for is it effective and popular football team that has made its name as one of the top clubs in European football history.
