With historical centers in abundance, a grand setting on the resplendent Rhine and one of Europe's best winter jubilees; Basel makes an engaging stopover, particularly for people looking for a historical vibe along with a contemporary urban configuration. The city's year-round attractions, including the connecting with Old Town, are for the most part packed in Grossbasel (Greater Basel) on the south bank of the Rhine. Over the stream, Kleinbasel (Little Basel) is a grittier zone, long home to this rich city's average workers. Basel is likewise the nearest Switzerland comes to having a seaport; the Rhine is safe for not too bad estimated ships starting here until it achieves the North Sea in Holland. It finishes a tender twist the city, from southeast to north.

Below are reviews of the city of Basel, Switzerland from an actual visitor's perspective.
Clean and pretty, and we felt safe walking around.
We came for the Euro 2024 female handball tournament, which was great. Most of the travelers went also to the x-ma's markets and some to the Tinguely Museum.
Nice city to walk around!
Brilliantly compact and easy to navigate. The trams are excellent. Mellow and chill city.
Very nice Altstadt area with good restaurants, etc. The Irish Pub down the street was a lot of fun. Lots of friendly people.
Great tram system, good local restaurants, and the service around the city was amazing.
