'Being the second best has never left me satisfied. I know I have the ability to be the best tennis player in the world, and I would never like to settle being anything else.,
Talk about being confident! These words of extreme self-belief from Rafael Nadal, one of the best tennis stars the world has ever seen ring loud and true for anyone who wants to draw some inspiration from this supremely talented youth icon.
As it turns out, Rafael Nadal is an avid Majorcan, a proud resident of Mallorca (also known locally as Majorca). He, like many other celebrities and who's who (from Jeffrey Archer to Michael Douglas and Samuel L. Jackson to Cristiano Ronaldo), loves to spend most of his holiday time in this beautiful city, just nudging the Mediterranean in the most subtle and beautiful of manners.
Geographically speaking, Mallorca forms a part of the famous Balearic Group of Islands, also known as the Balearic Archipelago. Mallorca is one of the constituent islands of this archipelago, and the most famous one, by a fair margin. Palma de Mallorca is the capital of this autonomous island and the unanimous port of entry for all the tourists.
A trip to Mallorca can be a great rejuvenator for all the tourists and travelers, no matter where they come from. Pristine beaches unmarred by artificial or commercial activities, stretches of hard white sand that holds up pretty nicely and a number of water sporting activities to boot with top notch restaurants mean that Mallorca is an ideal, tailor-made travel destination for tourists who just want to unwind, without engaging in too much of sightseeing.
Let's take a quick look at what hotels in Mallorca have to offer to tourists.
Cheap Hotels in Mallorca
Being one of the most popular travel destinations in Europe for a number of years in a row, Mallorca has developed a reputation for quality. That, however, does not mean that having fun in a city like Mallorca always comes cheaply. Of course, if you want the best of amenities on a high profile island like Mallorca, you will naturally be required to pay hefty sums.
But that said, let us not discount many cheap hotels that this city of sun and sand houses. Even though they are not as cheap as you would expect to find in other cities, they are the best deal you could hope to have here.
Among these various cheap hotels, Sis Pins is especially notable for its extremely convenient location from the beachfront (as most Mallorca hotels that are at the beachfront tend to be expensive). Protur Alicia is another impressive hotel that would provide you all the basic comforts of a stay at reasonably low prices.
Hotel Rocamarina and Hotel Sur are two more worthy additions to this list of cheap and affordable lodging options in Mallorca.
Finding High-Life in Mallorca
It's a given that a holiday city like Mallorca is where most tourists go to let go of themselves. And letting go, in more cases than most, means splurging their hard earned cash to get a taste of lavish life.
If that's what drives you, then, rest assured that Mallorca has some of the best offerings you could ever expect to find on the face of this planet.
St Regis Mardavall is a hugely popular luxury hotel in Mallorca that would take you by surprise the moment you set foot in its premises. Extremely elegant decor and loads of in-house amenities mean that once you pay, you are all set to lead a royal life.
Gran Hotel San Net is a similarly posh property that lets you access its heated pools and saunas at no added costs. Castillo Hotel Son Vida, a highly perched castle-like building, allows you to indulge into an aristocratic life that you richly deserve.
Must do Things When in Mallorca
The first and the foremost thing you would be doing, like millions of other tourists, when you land in Mallorca is to gather your beach paraphernalia and head straight to the nearest accessible beach.
And yes, you should be least worries about beaches (as long as you lodge in Palma) as they are all easily accessible.
Apart from beach lounging, sun tanning, swimming and relaxing, there are quite a few other things to do in Mallorca, as well. The most prominent among these is a trip to Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. Even though it is not among the most imposing mountains you will see on earth, it fits quietly into the scheme of things, providing a great contrast to an otherwise monotonous topography of the island.
Another thing you shouldn't miss out on at any costs when you are holidaying in Mallorca is to get a taste of some great Mediterranean delicacies. Mallorca is blessed with a number of restaurants that serve some of the most authentic Spanish, Balearic and Mediterranean cuisine that you will simply fall in love with!
Hotels Near The Airport
If you are going to visit Mallorca, chances are high that the capital city of Palma de Mallorca is where you will get in. Palma is well connected with most of the prominent cities in Europe with direct flights by budget airlines.
So, it would be reasonably to find an accommodation right near the airport so that your shuttles to the airport are made easier and less taxing.
There are a handful of Mallorca hotels in the vicinity of the airport. These, however, tend to be on the expensive side.
Getting Around in Mallorca
Getting around locally in Mallorca is fairly easy.
Barring Sundays, buses operate throughout the day between major tourists spots, making it simpler for tourists to carry out their sightseeing plans without much hassle.
Inland railway service is also available between select points of the island.
Another cheap and convenient way to get around in Mallorca is to hire a car with a guide and a driver “ an endeavor in which all good hotels in Mallorca would assist you.
