My husband and I visited OSV and then stay at the Publick House for two nights. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff members who made our stay wonderful. The dining room staff is the best! We ate in the dining room three different times and loved every meal served to perfection! I highly recommend staying at the Publick House, beds are so comfortable I thought I was at home, rooms are very clean and modern.
We happened across this place as we were looking for a place to stay for a concert at the Xfinity Center. Due to the FIFA World Cup being in town at Gillette Stadium, there were either no places available near by or they wanted $500 a night, which I really did not want to pay for two nights. Although the Publick Inn was about an hour away from the event, I am glad we stumbled upon it. What a beautiful place this is. This is not your modern style hotel. It had the feel of the colonial days in a way (a good way). Very well kept. The price was absolutely right. They had a wedding here during the day and I can see why couples would want to have their wedding held here. Just an absolutely beautiful atmosphere. The Village of Sturbridge is also a cute little village itself. We would definitely stay here again. Again, this is definitely not your Hampton Inn or Hilton Hotel, but that is what I actually like about it. It was really nice just to walk around the property and take in the sights. Also, huge shout out to the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful!

We prefer the motor lodge rather than the "historic inn." The bath tub is low and so we can get in and out with less chance of an accident in the bath or shower; the heat is always "just right;" the rooms are roomy with small dining table, a sofa.
A Fine room, lovely accommodation!
Weather was bad and we were tired of driving and tried to book a room in Sturbridge, but I guess the leaf peepers had booked most of the rooms in the area and our choices were further limited by refusing to pay $75 pet fee at the Hampton. In any case we were not sure what to expect until we pulled in the driveway and saw a charming place to stay. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We got a Large Caesar Salad and the savory Meatloaf entree included two two inch thick slabs of meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans more that we could eat! The Bakery shop was so tempting to try one of each! We will stay here again on our way to and from Florida to Maine trips.
