Trucountry Inn
The hotel offers a bar/lounge, parking, an elevator, a pool, a restaurant, WiFi/Internet, laundry facilities, a 24/7 front desk, a business center, and meeting rooms.
If you're looking for a quaint, historic getaway in a small Texas town, Trucountry Inn is the place for you. When you walk in, you walk to the saloon like bar to register. With promises of ghosts and historical accuracy (Bonnie and Clyde stayed here!), this hotel does not miss the mark! Be sure you check if your room has an ensuite restroom in it. I found out in order to keep its historical accuracy, some share hallway restrooms. (Note: I stayed in the Bob Wills Room and it did have its own bathroom, complete with shower.).
Everyone was friendly, the hotel is gorgeous and pretty true to its original time frame. If you are looking for modern five star accommodations, this is not the place but if you are looking to step back to the past, I highly recommend. We stayed in Hollywood Texas room and it did not disappoint. The beds were so cozy and I actually slept all night without waking up, which for me is a miracle. Amazing little gem in the heart of Texas!
I do love this place. Very nostalgic, a very cool place if you just soak the history in.
