Travel overview of Tallinn, Estonia

The capital of Estonia proves that an Old Town can rank among the world's top ten digital cities. Tallinn has been a city of contrasts, but its present status definitely makes it a standard for comparisons. Estonia's largest capital has been declared 2011's European Capital of Culture, after joining the European Union. The whole city ranks among the UNESCO World Heritage greats, with the rare edifice almost built entirely on well-preserved medieval structures. Tallinn has been Europe's little secret, long guarded by the shadows of Russians, Swedes, and Germans. The medieval hanseatic town is filled with interesting sights waiting to be uncovered. Guests should visit the Toomkirik, a medieval church that has been standing since the 1233, or the baroque structure of the Kadrirog Palace, which all seem to have been built just a few decades ago. Then head to the sprawling Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, an interesting modern dome that rivals the majestic feel of the Tallinn Town Wall and Toompea Castle. The skyscrapers by the Baltic Seaport demonstrate were business in the 21 century should be - alongside castles, palaces, and 800 year-old towers.

Tatyana Fomina said that people should try to "Live your life unattached from the approval of others; if you know your being is in the right place, act upon it."

This is exactly why the people of Tallinn, Estonia have such a popular tourist's destination on their hands. This place is known for its shopping as well as its fine Tallinn Hotels. Tourists also find their way to the city to immerse themselves in its history as it is dotted with fine museums that provide people with a road map of Estonian history. Amongst them is the Seaplane Harbor of Estonian Maritime Museum.

Tallinn is one of my group's new favorite cities! The mix of history and modern development is perfect. The people were friendly and the food was amazing. Old Town was so fun we ended up spending two days wandering around, shopping, eating and taking in the bars. Highly recommend!

"Meetings in Tallinn Estonia"
Score 5.0 / 5

Easily accessible. The compact layout of the city makes distances conveniently short. Not only is the airport just 10 minutes away from the city centre, nearly all sights, hotels, conference venues and restaurants are within easy walking distance of each other. The city offers unforgettable venues for social events and receptions. Examples include the stylish, high tech Kumu art museum, the opulent, 15th century Town Hall and the towering ruins of the Pirita Monastery. If you are looking for a unique meeting venue, Tallinn is the right place.
