Quiet
Raton is a great stop when traveling between locations. Lots of gas options and a number of places to eat. All reasonably priced. Also a number of hotels to choose from. When traveling between western Wyoming and south Texas (which I've done quite a few times) I always stop for the night in Raton. One of these days after I retire, I'm going to stop and explore the area for a few days to explore what there is to see in the area.

Great town, good eating spots. Especially K-Bob's. We were there for an appointment at the hospital and that was an excellent facility with professional people working there!
It was our first stay but we will include Raton and Santa Rosa on future trips to Colorado because of Best Westerns we stayed at. Hands down 2 best stays in years. One going and one coming. One kept us from getting into Santa Fe late, and the other finished mini vacation with a pleasant and comforting stay.
Raton was much different than I expected. We came for a concert. We were able to find the venue right away. The town is0 clean and welcoming.
