If you're on a budget, or a fancy resort isn't your style, the Rainbow Hot Springs may be more to your liking. It is located a few miles north of Pagosa Springs, in the Weminuche Wilderness Area. A 4.5-mile hike takes you to two pools in a secluded, primitive setting. Be advised, however, that clothing is optional!
Hot water isn't the only attraction in Pagosa Springs. You can book a canoeing, rafting, or kayaking trip on the beautiful San Juan River. Lots of cute shops, restaurants, the hot springs are nice, and during the summer you can go floating on the river.
