Nice small town!
I love Manchester all the restaurants and shopping! The Northshire bookstore goes on for miles, its 3 levels and a great coffee shop inside too! Lots of fantastic books to peruse, you can get lost in here for hours. Another favorite stop is Thai Basil cafe. Love the food here. They have a lot of gluten free options. You need to make reservations to be sure to get a table and a chance to eat their delicious food. A new stop for us this year was Depot Street burgers best burger I have had in a long time! And they have a dedicated gluten free fryer so I could have fries with that, yummy lamb burger. I was sad to see a few stores were no longer there. But I'm sure that they will get some new stores in. I do wish some of the stores were open on Sunday. It was a bit disappointing not to be able to do more shopping in Manchester. We traveled instead to Bellows Falls and shopped there instead. On Open Studio Weekend we travel around the state to see artisans studios to see their work and their process, its fantastic. Next Open studio is in October.

There are many good restaurants. We were very impressed with Barrows House which is a lively place with a quieter small dining room past the bar area. The area around Manchester is beautiful in any season and if you need something, there are lots of shops to meet your needs or just offer temptations.

This hotel was good. The rooms were clean. Clean, mostly quiet other the street festival night, abundance of fuel stations and Mulligans provided great service ( thank you Courtney) and excellent chowder.

There's a fire cooked pizza place near Shaws grocery store. Out side dining. Good quality pizza at a decent price. Ice cream isn't too bad either. Friendly staff and seems to be the hot spot in town. Would come again.
Manchester Center is a quaint, lovely place to visit. We were there when all the big, snowball-white hydrangea and gorgeous summer flowers were in bloom. I can only imagine how beautiful Manchester must look in the winter - with its snow-covered, majestic, green mountains in the background, it must be breath-taking!
