Everyone who finds Freeport irresistible has a reason for their favorite season. From the peace and solitude of January to the best beach weather in July, Freeport is an exciting year-round destination. Bargain hunters will find the best off-season lodging deals for stays during November, January, and May, while lobster lovers should consider a trip to New England from the end of June to late December, when fisherman gather most of their fare.

Visit Freeport during the summer to take advantage of Maine's glorious weather for a hike or bike ride, a picnic at one of the area's parks, or swimming and boating. June in Freeport is famous for its long days and few tourists, while July sees the town in full swing with a variety of festivals — so book your stay early to get the best summer deals on hotels. Families start heading back to school in August, and Freeport's sunny days and cool evenings are enchanting for those that linger on the shores into summer's final days.

Fall is a magnificent time to sightsee in Maine, when brilliant colors begin to touch the trees, bestowing those first glimpses of New England's spectacular autumn season. Beautiful summer-like days invite you to an almost deserted beach where you can have the warm sun and surf to yourself.

If winter sports are your thing, then March is the best month to vacation in Freeport. Warmer temperatures and brilliant blue skies hover over the pristine snowcover that's perfect for skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Travel to New England during the winter is often quite inexpensive and wonderfully rejuvenating.
