The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is a branch of the United States armed forces and one of seven uniformed services. The Coast Guard is a maritime, military, multi-mission service unique among the military branches for having a maritime law enforcement mission (with jurisdiction in both domestic and international waters) and a federal regulatory agency mission as part of its mission set. It operates under the Department of Homeland Security during peacetime, and can be transferred to the Department of the Navy by the President or Congress during time of war.
Founded by Alexander Hamilton as the Revenue Cutter Service on 4 August 1790, it lays claim to being the United States' oldest continuous seagoing service. As of August 2009, the Coast Guard had approximately 42,000 men and women on active duty, 7,500 reservists, 29,000 auxiliarists, and 7,700 full-time civilian employees.[3]
The Coast Guard's legal authority differs from the other four armed services and it operates simultaneously under Title 10 of the United States Code and its other organic authorities, e.g., Titles 6, 14, 19, 33, 46, etc. Because of its legal authority, the Coast Guard can conduct military operations under the Department of Defense or directly for the President in accordance with Title 14 USC 1-3.
The Coast Guard's enduring roles are Maritime Safety, Maritime Security, and Maritime Stewardship. To carry out those roles the Coast Guard has eleven statutory missions as defined in 6 U.S.C. § 468.
The Coast Guard motto is "Semper Paratus", Latin for "Always Ready" or "Always Prepared".

On Lake Havasu, water recreation is practiced by the devoted all year long. A unique feature of this exceptional park is that you can travel to 150 boat-access only campsites along the shore of Lake Havasu between Cattail Cove and Windsor Beach. The scenic shoreline of Lake Havasu State Park is an ideal place to enjoy beautiful beaches, nature trails, boat ramps and campsites.
Lake Havasu State Park has two distinct units, Windsor Beach and Cattail Cove. Windsor Beach is a wonderfully developed area in Lake Havasu City just north of the famed London Bridge. (London Bridge was dismantled at its original site in England and rebuilt in Arizona by developer Robert McCulloch in 1971) Windsor Beach is popular for day use, camping and launching all varieties of watercraft. The park offers 75 drive-in campsites plus 55 boat-in sites. The restrooms and showers are handicapped accessible.
Recreational opportunities offered at the State Park include camping, hiking, rock hounding, picnicking, fishing, boating, and water skiing (a public boat launch ramp is available).
The climate of Arizona varies greatly with elevation. The low elevations experience a desert climate. Lake Havasu has a low elevation of approximately 480 ft. During the summer months, expect very hot temperatures with afternoon thunderstorms possible especially in July and August. Daytime high temperatures can exceed 115 degrees. Winter brings moderate temperatures to the low elevations, with warm days and cool to cold nights. Winter is a good time to experience these normally snow free areas. Fall and spring are transitional periods and can also be nice times to visit these desert regions. Be prepared for cool temperatures at higher elevations and dress in layers for your travels in this state of varying climates. http://www.pr.state.az.us/parks/parkhtml/havasu.html

The lake has a capacity of 648,000 acre feet (799,000 dam³). The concrete arch dam was built by the United States Bureau of Reclamation between 1934 and 1938. The lake's primary purpose is to store water for pumping into two aqueducts.
