Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital was started by a group of physicians in 1973. Their mission has not changed since then -- to provide the very best nursing and rehabilitative care to our geriatric population. These caring physicians have managed our facility from its inception, and we continue to thrive and grow with their support and oversight. Our Administrator, Vicki Young, works closely with them to have a facility that takes pride in our excellent nursing care.
Although we are one of the older facilities in town, we are constantly changing and improving and have embraced the concept of resident-centered care. We want them to live in a beautiful home-like environment with plants, patios, dogs, cats, fish, birds and lots of fun things to do.

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital has been a part of western Nevada County since 1958, but its roots go even deeper. In the 1930s, mining engineer Errol MacBoyle and local doctor Carl Jones were leaders of an effort to build a new community hospital. With donated funds and land from MacBoyle's Idaho-Maryland Mine, work was begun on a new hospital.
World War II interrupted construction of the hospital and by the mid-1950s both MacBoyle and Jones had died and the unfinished hospital building was sold to businessman Charles Litton. Later, with proceeds from the sale and community fundraising efforts, plus 10 acres of land on Spring Hill donated by the Idaho-Maryland Mine, a new hospital for the community became a reality as Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital opened its doors.

Raging Waters Sacramento is a water park located at the Cal Expo in Sacramento, CA. The park is owned by Cal Expo and operated by Raging Waters. The park has been formerly known as WaterWorld USA and Six Flags Waterworld.
The park opened as WaterWorld USA in 1986. The park was owned by Cal Expo, where the park is located, and Premiere Parks leased and operated the park. Premiere Parks also owned WaterWorld USA in Concord, CA, and Marine World Africa USA. The three parks were operated by the same management, and their close proximity made for deals so that season passes to Marine World also worked at the WaterWorld USA parks. Although Premiere Parks bought Six Flags in 1998 and began renaming their parks with the Six Flags brand, the WaterWorld parks were not renamed until 2003, when the...
