Out of parking they offered valet for the charge of self parking. Nice clean room with great bedding but the mattress was a bit squeaky. Pool was great for the kids. Breakfast buffet was a great deal (I got the add $10.oo to your room deal and get a breakfast buffet). Some sketchy moments with the elevator but we got out. Overall great stay and I would stay again. Nice location if you have an event at Stanford. « less

Overall, this is not the worst hotel I have every stayed I in. But it is, considering how much my company paid. The place is old. There is no room service after 11 pm. The internet in the room is unreliable (in the heart of Silicon Valley!) On top of this it is undergoing renovations (and no one on the front desk told me when I checked in). I was constantly woken up by parking lot/hallway activity and guests next door. They were not noisy, but I could hear phone calls, conversations, TVs etc through the connecting doors of the room. The air conditioner was ancient, ineffective and loud. Don't stay here if you have an alternative. It's not a place that functions well or gives comfort. « less

The pool in the courtyard is nice for a dip on a sunny day. I stayed here for 4 nights and still could not get used to the smell in the hallway and rooms. A friend of mine thought "Sheraton, PA" sounded posh --- it is not posh! The hotel is between a big intersection (El Camino and University), a big parking lot, and the train tracks, so the immediate surroundings are not great, but once past that it is close to downtown PA and about a mile from the main quad at Stanford. Run down, but at least fairly quiet if you close all the windows and turn up the aircon. « less

I wasn't expecting much for a city hotel but this Sheraton was very special. The rooms were average, the hallway carpet not always clean, but the view from our room of the Japanese garden with pond and fountain made it feel like a retreat in an upscale resort type hotel. The pool was next to the bar and Starbucks and was a social gathering place. The breakfast room was small until the weather warmed up and they opened doors on to the pool area. Did not try the breakfast buffet but other guests kept going back for the fresh waffles and omelets. The buffet was kept fresh and well maintained. The valet was always quick and very friendly. Great family hotel but also seems to cater to the business clientele. « less

My corporate office is in Palo Alto and I make about 8 trips a year for a period of 4-6 days. Being a Starwood member, I like to stay loyal to the brand and stay at Sheraton or Westin property. I usually end up at the Sheraton(my last choice) due to availability. Every time I check in, I find myself having to negotiate for different rooms, for various reasons. The front desk lacks all sense of customer service. Carlos, one of the managers, is like talking to a robot. His answers are pat and lack all sense of emotion or concern. Tonight, I was forced to park in the basement garage at the hotel next door, because a local hospital event took up all the parking spaces for the guests. When I mentioned this to Carlos, I got the pat, sorry. The only reason I have returned is the wonderful woman, Donna, who runs the club lounge. I look forward to seeing her and sharing stories of our children. Unfortunately, I find myself cringing every time I pull into the hotel and wonder what I will have to deal with this time. The hotel smells damp and musty. They are starting the facelift and I found it ironic they upgraded me to the one floor that is in the middle of renovations. This is an upgrade? I recommend to go next door to the Westin or better yet, find a different hotel chain. Sorry SPG, but this hotel does not belong on your list. « less
