We stayed at the Maxwell for three nights on our recent road trip to BC. As it was my first time in Seattle we could not have booked a better hotel with a better location. yes maybe some people prefer downtown Seattle, but Seattle Center with the Space needle , various exhibitions like the Chihuly Glass Garden, the international fountain and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation right around the corner make it the perfect location. Hotel is clean and we had no problems finding a parking space in the well secured parking lot. We also used the free shuttle who takes you to three downtown locations, just make sure you book the shuttle the night before if possible. Our room was on the fourth floor, ideal would be the fifth, but we had no problems with noises coming from the hallway. The only negative in the room is the closet which is tiny and has no doors and there was no extra space to leave our two bags so we had to pile them up under the big mirror. There are lots of places to eat in the area our new favorite with unbelievable food is Toulouse Pettite, check it out and you will not be disappointed. If again in Seattle we would definitely stay here again. « less

We were traveling through Seattle to board a cruise for the next day. Having never been there, we weren't where would be a great place to stay. We came across the Maxwell Hotel and after seeing some pics, customer reviews and the great rates, I thought, this is it! I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into the lobby. Very colorful decor and inviting. I live in the southwest and it seems like all the decor is the same boring colors, so I loved all the decor and colors they used. There is a complimentary shuttle that will drive you where you need to go and there is even a restaurant right inside the hotel that has the best pizza! The staff is very friendly and when we arrived at about 1pm they had both of our rooms ready for us. The location is perfect as well. We took the shuttle close to Pike's Place Fish Market, then just decided to walk back to the hotel. I am so glad that we did because we ended up seeing much more than if had just taken the shuttle. Walk was easy and in a pretty part of downtown. The next morning we walked to a local cafe for breakfast that was very close by. Overall, great stay and would stay there if we ever returned to Seattle! « less

The Maxwell Hotel (not to be confused with the Hotel Max) is just west of Seattle Center (home of the 1962 Seattle Olympics) and a few blocks from the Space Needle. Covering Seattle's downtown by foot from the Maxwell is comfortable. The hotel is located in a residential area. Underground parking is complementary until the garage is full. You need a room key to enter the parking facility. Parking spaces are very narrow but your car is secure here. Decor is very modern but comfortable. This hotel has one of the best beds and pillows I've ever slept on. The "Rock", a pizza pub is the restaurant decorated with broken brick walls which I've never seen before. You may receive a pizza coupon when you check in which puts the price of a medium pie about the same as a cold beer. The hotel is very well maintained and the staff friendly and accommodating. There are complimentary pineapple muffins served in the lobby each afternoon. If you like breakfast of any kind, you will need to walk 4 short blocks down the street to a coffee shop that serves crepes, eggs, oatmeal, and great coffee. You'll see locals popping in here on their way to work grabbing a gourmet coffee to go. The Maxwell is beautifully decorated and a very comfortable place to relax. « less

The decor of this hotel is very interesting. The best word I can find is electic: a mix of circus motifs plus bright colours and an assortment of styles. There is a large sitting area in the lobby plus a fireplace lounge area with a little library. Little mini pineapple cupcakes are served in the afternoon. The room was large and comfortable with an extra big bathroom. The hotel is pet friendly and the staff were generous with the dog treats. The hotel is well-located near the Space Needle, Chihuly museum and surrounding area and the shuttle service is frequent. The only odd thing was the sheets: they had a plasticky rubbery feel. Perhaps b/c I was in a pet friendly room? « less

We were traveling through Seattle to and from Victoria, BC this week. Stayed at The Inn at The Market on the first leg of the trip and The Maxwell Hotel on the return. When we arrived late on Wednesday evening we received a warm welcome from the girl on reception. The room was lovely, while the decor may not be exactly to my taste, it was certainly very clean and modern. The bed is extremely comfortable and the pillows... when was the last time you actually had good pillows in a hotel? The pillows are great - the bedding felt lovely too. The bathroom was immaculate. While this place certainly doesn't have the convenience of the IATM, it's definitely comparable as far comfort and cleanliness. My husband has declared this his new favourite hotel in Seattle. Oh.. someone gave a bad review because there was no breakfast place nearby... We walked 5 mins down the street to Citizen (Taylor Ave) where we had a wonderful breakfast and excellent coffee - great staff too. « less
