I wanted to stop in Savannah (my first visit) on my drive down to Fort Lauderdale. I selected the Hampton Inn & Suites in the historic district. The facility was beautiful, well maintained and clean. The service was supurb! I was not only upgraded to a studio suite, but the General Manager (Melinda Bunheirao) was even able to get me into Paula Dean's restaurant. My only regret was that I was only there one night. « less

My husband and I had a wonderful trip to Savannah--our stay at Hampton was everything we needed. A beautiful lobby and room (cookies were great too) ! The staff made you feel 'right at home'-such genuine southern hospitality !! As always the beds were sooo comfy-just the thing to take a "power nap" after eating at Mrs. Wilkes !!! « less

I do like the Hampton Inn & Suites brand. They are always just that little bit better than you expect when you arrive.
The decor of the lobby is just beautiful and it feels like a five-star hotel.
My suite was gorgeous with small kitchen, seating area and comfortable beds (I only used one, of course!)
The location of this hotel is very good, turn right and walk two blocks to the Savannah History Museum and Railroad Museum, both worth a visit. This is also where you can get onto one of the many trolley tours.
Straight out the doors and across the street you walk into the 22 squares of the historic district with it's beautiful houses.
There is coffee available in the dining room all day. Breakfast is always varied and good. There are hot choices, cereal, bagels and (good!) pastries.
I love Savannah and staying here was a fabulous base to discover this gorgeous city, I highly recommend you stay here. too. « less

Stayed here over Mother's Day weekend. It was my first time at this location as in the past I have stayed at the other location (nicer) on Bay Street. Upon our arrival the first thing we noticed was the horrible parking situation and lack of spaces on the property. Many people who were checking in like us just lined up outside a cramped narrow area of the parking lot until such time as we could locate a spot. Check-in went smoothly and room preferences were granted. Room was typical Hampton style with the big fluffy (too hot) duvets. Shower was decent and it was nice that the room included a microwave and min-fridge. The breakfast was adequate, but not on par with the Bay Street location which seemed to have more choices that even included Krispy Kreme donuts! Cookies and fruit infused water in the lobby was a nice touch. The hotel is in an OK location, not the most ideal but not really out-of-the-way either. Upon check-out, I was surprised that we were charged $5/day for parking which was not mentioned at check-in. If you are like me, you love most Hampton Inn's and I was hoping this location was be almost as good as Bay Street but at a fraction of the price. I can't say that it is, but it served the purpose. « less

Chose this hotel because of its location right in the heart of Savannah. Everything can easily reached by foot. Parking is available right next to the hotel and there is a overflow lot on the other side of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Located at the intersection of MLK Blvd and Oglethorpe Ave it is also easy to find.
Very friendly welcome by front desk staff, room was already available at 12:30 PM which was very convenient. Got a very nice room on the ground floor which was huge and felt so roomy because of the high ceiling. Large comfortable King Bed, lots of space, fridge, huge bathroom with a shower entrance at ground level. Everything very clean und tidy.
Huge lobby, nicely decorated, like a southern living room.
When we retired we realised how loud the rooms facing Oglethorpe Ave especially on the ground level were. As there is a traffic light, all verhicles stop right in front of the room. It feels like the traffic rushes right through the room. Although we were quite tired, we weren´t able to sleep at all and therefore went to the front desk where Ro...n was on duty. She was just rude and unfriendly and just told us that they were almost sold out. "Almost" meant to us that there should have been rooms available and her male collegue (unfortunately we cannot recall his name) was very friendly telling us that there was another room on the first floor available but also facing the street but it was less noisy. So we moved in the middle of the night to find some sleep. In the morning Ro...n was still on duty and still grumpy und unfriendly.
Breakfast was really good, a lot of choices, tasty. Also here super friendly staff reacting to individual needs of some guests.
A small outside pool is on property.
We would return to this hotel but only if we´d get a room facing the parking lot. « less
