I travel to Batavia a couple of time a year on the way to Canada and have tried most of the hotels in the area and they are Ok but nothing great, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the Best Western was above the rest in room, cleanliness and appearance. Would recommend to anyone. « less

We arrived at the Best Western Crown Inn & Suites on Saturday April 6, 2013 @ approx. 2:00 p.m. The room was ready and they let us in right away. We went out for a while & came home approx. 7:00 p.m. to find a pool full of kids, so that ended our swimming. The kids that were not in the pool were running up & down the hall & even playing basketball. My husband told reception & they acted upon it immediately. However, that didn't last long. We were still up until midnight and trust me....so were they. My husband phoned reception & told him they were still making quite a bit of noise. It was not long after, the noise quieted down. Ahhh.....to finally get to bed. That didn't last long. It was bright and early 7:30 a.m. that it started again. We went to reception to find out if they were staying and if so, we would be checking out. They assured us they were leaving. The night receptionist had left them about him "babysitting" most of the night. The breakfast was great! We went out for a while, came home. The maid had been in. changed a face cloth & emptied the grabage, but did not vacuum or make our bed. Yes, all the kids had left. What a nice evening. Next morning while I was in the bathroom I noticed little bugs. Told the receptionist as we were checking out about it, but she didn't seem to concerned. Would I go back there again......NOT! « less

I've stayed at this hotel many times. In fact, this is the only hotel in the area that I feel safe and comfortable in. I prefer to stay in the main building and not the annex and my request has always been honored. This time I received room 227 and settled in only to find that there was NO HOT WATER in the shower. The bathroom sink was fine but not the shower. I called the front desk and was told the engineer wouldn't be in until 7AM. Since I was leaving the following morning at 7AM, that wouldn't be good for me. They never offered to move us. So we settled in and slept and had to take a wash cloth bath out of the sink in the morning. This was not exactly what I had in mind or what I wanted at all but I was given no choice. When I departed, the engineer was standing around the front desk and I complained about the no hot water to the woman who checked me out and she asked the engineer if he knew about it and he didn't have a clue. So basically my complaint the night before was ignored and I had to go without a real shower. No one offered me anything for my inconvenience. A coupon for a discount on my next stay would have been nice. NOTHING but an "oh well". Not acceptable in my book. I've been in the hospitality industry for 20 years, I am a Certified Meeting Professional (by the Convention Industry Council) and have been a corporate event planner with a large investment bank for many years. I know good service and this wasn't good. I get that its not a Four Seasons but I have a history with this hotel and feel something should have been done to accommodate me better. « less

I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past and had not been here in almost a year and things are not how they used to be. There were pubic hairs and boogers on one of the beds, the other was mostly clean. The lamp next to the bed was burned out. The bathroom looked like it had been wiped down with a dirty rag and there was a pubic hair on the toilet seat. The floors looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks, candy, garbage, and toenail clippings were on the floor. I slept in the cleaner bed and woke in the middle of the night with my neck burning like it had been slapped. I went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror and found a spider bite on my neck so I went around the room to find the spider. I found the spider web behind the headboard and ants crawling on the wall. I went to the front desk to check out because I didn't want to stay any longer. The person at the desk only said,"wow" when I told him about getting bit and showed him the bite on my neck, and then didn't say anything else about it or ask any questions. « less

The heater in the room was loud and came on about every 5 minutes. The sink was plugged and was reported to the desk. Housekeeping didn't replace the tissues or the soap, there was also an incomplete patch job on the wall by the door. The bed was comfortable and I can honestly say I've stayed a lot worse. We quite enjoyed breakfast, but didn't get the opportunity to use the pool as I left my swim trunks at home, but I did see people in the pool. « less
